Professor David Smith FRGS

David is the Director of the Coral Reef Research Unit at Essex University and the Director of Marine Sciences for Operation Wallacea. He is also a Fellow of The Royal Geographic Society, Principle Investigator for the Mitsubishi Coral Reef Task Force, Principle Investigator for the Earthwatch Institute, and Senior Scientific Advisor to the Indonesian Government. David has published over 70 peer-reviewed articles on tropical marine ecology. He offers academic support and advises on technical aspects of ecology field work.

Chris Majors

An Environmental Consultant with over 15 years experience in Indonesia. Now a resident of Bali, Chris contributes to conservation projects across the country; including marine research activities on protected islands off the coast of Sulawesi, conserving wild elephant populations in the forests of north Sumatra and the cultivation of Bamboo by Balinese farmers to address soil erosion and climate change concerns. Chris serves as a cultural adviser and logistics consultant for the Odyssey Institute.

David McCutcheon

Founder and Director of McCutcheon Consulting (www.mccutcheonconsulting.ca). David is an extremely experienced leadership consultant and a passionate outdoorsman. David provides technical assistance with the development of wilderness leadership initiatives and wilderness risk management.

Justin Bedard

Justin was a co-creator of the Wild Outdoor Education Program at the Western Academy of Beijing and is Founder and Executive Director of The JUMP! Foundation, one of the most influential youth leadership development organizations in Asia. Justin is a technical advisor in the field of youth leadership and international school field trip delivery.

Ron Lilley

Founder and Expert Team Member at the Indonesian Nature Foundation. Ron is a gold mine of information about indigenous flora and fauna and provides expertise in the development of marine and terrestrial ecology curriculum and experiential teaching methodology.

Martin Foakes

Martin has been teaching Science and Outdoor Education in leading International Schools in Asia for the past 17 years. He holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and is currently Head of Biology at Tanglin Trust, Singapore. He is an avid climber and outdoorsman and most notably was recently involved in the exploration and mapping of new cave systems in Northern Thailand. Martin advises on program design and logistics.
